Author: Frederic MadoreVaginal rash is experienced by more women than you might think. At the best of times it can be an irritant but at the worst it can be quite unbearable. This condition is often associated with various infections like:
- Yeast infections
- Herpes
- Genital warts
- Trichomoniasis
When suffering from vaginal rash you should always seek medical attention. You see a yeast infection is not a very serious condition but if you have vaginal rash due to herpes or genital warts it can be the precursor to some other condition. So you should have a proper medical examination and make sure not to have any sexual intercourse.
Of course this can be difficult for some people but if you suffer from severe vaginal rash you will be glad to abstain until you get better or else you could experience severe pain during sexual intercourse.
On top of that the chances are very good that you will infect you partner during sexual intercourse. Even if your partner is protected with a condom the chances of infection to be passed on are still very high.
Another side effect of vaginal rash you should be aware of is that you may experience pain or burning when urinating. It can be in the form of an itching sensation and if your vaginal rash is due to a yeast infection then you may also experience some vaginal discharge.
There are various symptoms you can experience when suffering from vaginal rash. Depending on the person they can experience all of them to none. In some other cases they may be additional symptoms. Here are some of the symptoms you can experience during a vaginal rash episode:
- The vaginal area becomes sore and tender
- Can turn quite red and angry looking
Of course there are multiple treatments available to help you get rid of your vaginal rash. It goes from prescription to over-the-counter medicine to herbal or home remedies. The treatment you will choose may vary depending on your preferences or the severity of your vaginal rash, your overall health or your doctor's recommendation.
One thing to be aware of is that if you decide to cure your vaginal rash yourself with over-the-counter medicine or with natural and home remedies without being examined by medical personnel there can be some small problems that can arise.
The most common or serious of these problems is that you may be treating a yeast infection or something similar when in fact you're completely suffering from something else.
The importance of seeking medical attention is that you want to make sure you use the correct medication at the right time or else you could become used to the medication and it just won't work when you really need it. So in case of a vaginal rash make sure you consult your physician to get a correct diagnosis.
